TWIKI.NET Names Jitendra Kavathekar as President and CEO
SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TWIKI.NET, a leading provider of enterprise collaboration solutions based on the TWiki.org open source project, names Jitendra Kavathekar as its President and CEO, replacing Tom Barton, former interim-CEO. Barton will continue in his role as Chairman of the Board.
“I am excited with this opportunity to lead the company into its next stage of growth. Our company has a strong record of helping customers evolve into the next generation collaborative enterprise,” said Kavathekar. “More than ever, enterprises are grappling with ways to reduce hierarchical, geographical, and organizational distances in order to execute more efficiently. Our customers benefit directly from TWiki’s flexible and open solution that supports not only wiki based collaboration for content creation, but also as a platform for light-weight enterprise applications. I am excited to be an enabler in this rapidly changing time.”
Jitendra Kavathekar joins TWIKI.NET from Yahoo! where he was Vice President and Managing Director of the Web Analytics business. While at Yahoo!, Kavathekar grew the web analytics business from inception to a vital part of the company's overall insights strategy. Prior to Yahoo!, Kavathekar led Motorola's technology investment in the SCREEN3, a mobile web services platform, resulting in 16 new operators going live with 6 million SCREEN3-enabled handsets. Kavathekar’s experience also includes senior leadership roles at Devicescape, Palm, Pixo (acquired by Sun Microsystems) and Hewlett Packard in domains spanning mobile and wireless, consumer technologies, internet, and embedded software.
“Jitendra brings to TWIKI.NET extensive experience in building and scaling execution oriented organizations,” says Barton. “His experience with TWiki while at Yahoo! combined with his vision for the enterprise of the future and his execution track record make him a great choice to lead this company forward.”
Already recognized as a leading enterprise collaboration platform, TWiki has been nominated among the 230,000 open source projects on SOURCEFORGE, as one of 10 finalists in the "Best Project for Enterprise" category at the SourceForge.net Community Choice Awards 2009.
