Tom Barton, Chairman of the Board and Interim CEO

tom-barton.jpg Tom Barton has a successful track record of leading and growing technology-based businesses. He was CEO of Rackable Systems from 2002 to April, 2007. Under his leadership, the company grew from $25M in annual sales to $360M in 2006. He took the company public in June of 2005. Tom previously served as SVP of Client Services at Red Hat, where he held P&L responsibility for two-thirds of the company's revenue streams. Tom joined Red Hat via its acquisition of Cygnus Solutions, the leader in open source development tools. Tom held many roles at Cygnus including Interim CEO. He holds an MBA, BS, and BA from Stanford University.

Peter Thoeny, Chief Technology Officer

peter-thoeny Peter Thoeny is the founder of TWiki and has managed the open-sourced TWiki.org project for the last nine years. Peter invented the concept of structured wikis - where free form wiki content can be structured with tailored wiki applications.

He is a recognized thought-leader in Wikis and social software, featured in numerous articles and technology conferences including Linux World, BusinessWeek, The Wall Street Journal and more. A software developer with over 20 years experience, Peter specializes in software architecture, user interface design and web technology.

He graduated from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, lived in Japan for 8 years working as an engineering manager for Denso building CASE tools, and managed the Knowledge Engineering group at Wind River for several years. He co-authored the Wikis for Dummies book, and is currently working on a Wikis for the Workplace book.

Will Thomas, Chief Operating Officer

will-thomas.jpg Will has over 20 years of experience in the telecom and computer industries. In his current role, Will oversees finance, operations, investor relations, sales and marketing for TWIKI.NET. Prior to joining TWIKI.NET in 2007, Will served as VP of Quality and Global Support for Rackable Systems, where he managed all quality and support initiatives for the company’s broad range of products worldwide for customers including Microsoft, Yahoo!, Amazon and AOL.

Will was also Rackable's "TWiki Champion", having installed the company's first TWiki server in 2003. By mid-2007 the server had 18k page views/month in a company of approximately 300 employees. The corporate TWiki server contained HR information, Quality Inspection and Corrective Action Register Systems (TWiki Applications), and Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI's).

Prior Rackable, he served as VP of Manufacturing for Linux hardware manufacturer Penguin Computing, where he managed primary supplier and CM relationships, significantly improving material costs, delivery lead-times and overall inventory exposure. Before Penguin, Will was founding CEO of triple play DNS and DHCP provider Nominum. During his tenure, the company released open source BIND9 via the ISC and developed its industry leading caching name server. Will has also worked for Ericsson Telecom's Corporate Technology unit and fiber optic player Raynet. He holds a BS in Geology from SUNY Albany.

Outside TWiki, Will enjoys spending time with his family and sailing the SF Bay.

David Allen, Director, Product Development

david-allen David Allen is an author, speaker, enterprise information technology architect, open source advocate, and security expert. He has over 15 years of international experience in the financial, technology, government, security, and legal industries, for clients such as Charles Schwab, JPMorgan, and NASA.

David is responsible for over 15,000 migrations on five continents, and is the lead author of Windows to Linux Migration Toolkit, a book that provides a roadmap, open source CD toolkit, and step-by-step instructions for migrating a company's desktop and server infrastructure from proprietary software running on Windows to open source software running on Linux.

David is a regular speaker at events such as the IDG LinuxWorld Conference and O'Reilly Open Source Convention. He is passionate about teaching attendees how to maximize security and reliability using open source tools, with presentations that cover Intrusion Detection, Security Testing, and Hands On Hacking.

When he's not busy crafting the latest and greatest products for TWIKI.NET, David serves as caretaker for the company's Social Networking Catalyst, TWiki Birdie.

Saeed Amidi, Board of Directors

saeed-amidi Saeed has been a technology investor since 1996 and co-founded Amidzad with Pejman and Rahim in 2000. He is a serial entrepreneur and a seasoned executive with over 23 years of experience in founding, operating, and growing successful companies.

He has been closely involved with more than twenty new emerging growth companies, of which 2 became public companies (PayPal — acquired by eBay — and Preview Systems). His investments include DoveBid, Crosslayer Networks, Paypal, Affinity Engines, Gabbly, Sigma Quest.

Saeed co-founded the Amidi Group in 1980, a conglomerate of privately-held business enterprises consisting of several domestic and international entities with significant manufacturing, distribution, trading, retail, and real estate holdings. For the past 23 years, he has chaired and spearheaded the operations and management of a number of the Amidi Group entities, growing the aggregate value of its assets under management to over $250M.

Saeed is an active member of the technology community and a frequent contributor to numerous charitable foundations. He is also an active member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), a world-class network of Fortune 500 CEOs, accomplished serial entrepreneurs, and veteran financial executives.
